Let's Go Exploring

301 Endless Yard Sale

This past weekend was not only Father’s Day but also the 5th annual 301 endless Yard Sale! The event takes place on over 100 (and growing fast!) miles of Highway 301 in Johnston County, North Carolina. It’s impressive really. This was my family and I’s first time and let me just say right away that we will be going again next year. The 301 Endless Yard Sale, in my opinion, easily rates among the top 10 annual events in North Carolina. It’s really nice to get out and just enjoy America, and meet and talk with the people, who were of all shapes and sizes, colors and religions working and coming together peacefully and enjoying one another’s company and stories. People were laughing, dealing, cooking, storytelling and selling.  Also there were vendors serving up your favorite refreshments and eats. It’s really something special!

My wife and I purchased a brand new rice cooker and waffle iron for $45 dollars. I could have haggled, but I knew that the rice cooker was over 40 bucks at the store.  The kids walked away with a few toys, a Tonka helicopter that I am positive I had a similar one when I was their ages! It was awesome. There were so many stops and wears, antiques and knick knacks, frankly I was amazed at everything that we found along the highway. Next year I’m bringing more money and a truck! Check out the photos below, as always thank you, please share and comment below!

This was our third time to travel the 301 Endless Yard Sale and we look forward to it each year. This year, we came home with the “Women” sign, a red transferware pitcher and an orange owl cookie jar. Lots of other treasures came home with us, and we had a marvelous time!

The Second Annual Mondo Roots Cultural Arts and Music Festival

What can I say, other than how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to capture the second annual Mondo Roots Cultural Arts and Music Festival.

Last Friday at Revival 1869 Featuring Travis Petersen

There is something new in town, to be more precise a resurgence of celebrating art, a revival if you will.
